Rtn Padmini Parameswaran President Rotary Club of Delhi Central RI Year 2024-25 Rtn Padmini Parameswaran was born in Chennai and brought up largely in North India. Her parents Mr. R. Natrajan, a Russian trained Electrical Engineer from BIT Sindhri and her mother , Mrs Kamala Natrajan, a housewife and a source of inspiration to Padmini and her sister, moved from Jamshedpur to Haridwar a few years after so Padmini went to school in Hyderabad and in Haridwar and for her degree and future qualifications to Delhi University. She has completed a BA and MA in English and then a Bachelor and Master of Education in later years because as an Army Wife she opted to take on a profession that could take her to different stations where her husband, Col. S. Parameswaran, was posted. Her last tenure as a Teacher was at Springdales School Dhaula Kuan. In the year 1998, Padmini began her career with British Education when she took over as the Deputy Director at Middlesex University’s (UK) Regional Office in India. She set up offices, under her own leadership as Regional Director South Asia, for Brighton International Business School, University of Central Lancashire, Northumbria University, University of East London and is currently employed at Teesside University where she is also the World Lead for all the Regional Offices across South Asia, China, South East Asia, West Africa, Middle East and North Africa. The universities have benefitted greatly over the years and have all surpassed the international student recruitment numbers and partnerships over the last two and half decades. Padmini’s experience in Rotary spans over a few decades. She was an Interactor at School and President of her Interact Club, she was a Rotaractor in college for a brief period of time and then a R’Ann at the Rotary Club of Delhi South East where her husband was a Member from 2008 and until 2022. Both, Padmini and Subra, became Major Donors in the RI Year 2013-14 when her husband, Col. S. Parameswaran was the President of Rotary Club of Delhi South East. She was pinned as a Rotarian in the RI Year 2017 by Rtn Dr Manju Mani and has been a proud Member of the Rotary Club of Delhi Central ever since. She and her Partner, Col Subra, have now attained Major Donor Level 2 in the RI Year 2021 ROTARY DESIGNATIONS AND AWARDS : District GML Editor -2016-17 Best R’Ann in R.I. District 3011 Award –2016-17 District GML Editor – 2020-21 Club Secretary -2020-21 Best Secretary in R.I District 3011 Award -2020-21 District Chair and Chief Editor GML – 2021-22 District Chair and Chief Editor GML- 2022-23 District GML Editor- 2023-24 District Chair GML – 2024-25 For her, personally, the association with Rotary brings back pleasant memories of several visits to a village her Interact Club had adopted and the contribution all the Interactors had made towards Adult Literacy, awareness on hygiene and sanitation and also in motivating Rotarians to help in uplifting the village and looking after their basic needs. The main intention of being a part of Rotary even today is to share whatever little we have over and above our basic needs with people who need it more. She is, currently, President 2024-25, at Rotary Club of Delhi Central and is looking forward to a year full of meaningful Rotary Service and building new relationships alongside sustaining the old. Padmini’s Spouse, Col. S. Parameswaran, is an Army Man and he was in the Air Defence wing of the Army before he took a premature retirement soon after the action in Kargil. He led the only Air Defence Regiment that went to the battle ground at Kargil and he carries with him the experience of having participated in a war before he finally retired prematurely. He is a Rotarian and has been one since the year 2008. After a successful stint as the President of Rotary Club of Delhi South East (RCDSE) and after several years of dedicated work he resigned from RCDSE in January 2022 and joined Rotary eClub One, RI District 5450, as a Rotarian once again in March 2022. The couple have a daughter, Shriya, who heads the Web Development team in the Canada Operations of Walmart and is located in San Mateo, California. She is married to Mukund Krishna, an Engineer who works in the semi-conductor industry and they have one child, a son called Azad. Padmini and Col Parameswaran also have a son, Abhishek who is in the alcohol industry and is CSO Global of a company called ‘Nao Spirits’ that make their own brand of Gin called ‘Greater Than’ and he is married to Sanjana who is a New Product Development Manager at L’Oreal, Singapore and they are blessed with a son named Arzh
